Keeping Up With The Balcombs: A little bit about us....

So, I know many of you already know where we are and what we've been up to, but I wanted to start this blog a little further back and include some pictures of our recent adventures, including vacations, random stuff, and of course our wedding.

GATOR FOOTBALL -- NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, JANUARY, 2007

We decided to take advantage of the Gators' 1st National Championship in 10 years & drove to Arizona with our 2 dogs to cheer them on. We also wanted to celebrate our new engagement (Christmas Day, 2006), so it was a perfect getaway. We had a blast hanging with my family & friends, & partying 'til all hours with other Gator fans.

CANCUN -- APRIL, 2007

We decided to take a vacation to Cancun, Mexico for my 28th birthday. !st we stopped in Atlanta for a Braves' game -- Bo's favorite team. Then we continued on to Cancun where we had a blast deep sea fishing, exploring ruins, and spending time together on the beach.....and yes, of course we had plenty of cervezas & margaritas! ;-)

LAKE POWELL & OUR NEW TOY -- JULY, 2007

Bo had his Bachelor Party at Lake Powell during 4th of July weekend and we decided that we needed to buy a new boat for him to take with him. (HUH?!?!? Who are we to be acting like rich people?!?) Anyway, he had a good time and the boat came back almost unscathed (a few minor scratches). So the next weekend he decided to take me to Powell for my 1st time. It was amazing! If anyone wants to come out for a visit, we would LOVE to take to you there. We camped on the rocks and had a very nice, very private, campsite of which we took full advantage! :-)

OUR WEDDING -- AUGUST, 2007

Okay, so after 8 months of agony including several arguments & lots of tears, our big day finally arrived......wait, I thought this was supposed to be a happy time, right? Well, it was -- but planning a wedding in another state is just a bit more difficult than my parents & I had imagined. Bo, in typical guy fashion, was of no help, but we pulled it together, with the assistance of my maid of honor, Kate, and some other wonderful helpers.

We got married at Fort Allen Park in Portland, Maine. It was right on the water under a big beautiful tree. We could not have asked for a nicer summer day. Everything was perfect.....except for that DAMN CURL!!! (No, my hair was not perfect! Oh well.) Anyway, all my girls looked amazing & Bo's guys were studly as ever in their tuxes.

After the ceremony we all met up at the Elks Club for the reception, which was fabulous! Thanks mom & dad! We finished the night partying at the hotel bar, and almost actually got kicked out of the hotel....the entire wedding party! This was sure a night to remember!
