Talk About A Major Buzz Kill.....

So, this morning I was scheduled to be induced. I am 5 days overdue & more than ready to get this baby out of me. We did go through several days of uncertainty about whether or not we were doing the right thing with the induction, but we finally decided that it was what we wanted. We made arrangements at the restaurant to be closed today & tomorrow, & then to trust our employees to reopen on Friday & hope that everything goes well without us. Everything was in place. After a rough night's sleep we awoke just before 6am & showed up at the hospital at 7am. We were told to have a seat in the waiting room b/c they had a crazy, busy night & did not have a room ready for me yet. After close to an hour we were finally given the option of coming back later in the day or else tomorrow. WOW!!! BUZZ KILL!! After dealing with the anxiety of anticipation for what was to come & psyching myself up for labor I was now being told to go home?!? Well, we decided to just call back throughout the day & check on their progress at the birthing center. At 10:30 I called & was told that there had been no major changes, except that after sending 2 of us soon-to-be mothers home, they had 2 people show up that were in active labor. Great! So, I was instructed to call back in another hour, which I did. Now they are hopefully that they will be ready for me around 2pm, but I need to call at 1:30 just to make sure we do not waste another trip into town......Man! I don't know what's worse -- the idea of painful labor or being stuck in limbo, not knowing when I'm actually going to be able to get started....hmmmm.....at this point I think I would really just prefer to take the pain & get it over with. The waiting is not very fun, & it's unfortunately giving me extra time to think about all the things that could possibly go wrong. Oh well. In the meantime, my mom, Bo, his mom, & I have been keeping busy around the house -- laundry, dishes, moving the recliner out of our bedroom & moving the cosleeper in. We even sat outside in the sunshine & 60-70 degree weather....yea! That's right -- it's warm & sunny in Colorado on Nov. 19th! I even did a little sun bathing. Go figure! I guess nothing is how it should be today. Anyway, I'll keep you posted! :-/
